Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HSE Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives across multiple construction and interior fit-out project sites in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in HSE management within the construction industry, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations while fostering a culture of safety throughout all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

The HSE Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s health, safety, and environmental plans and policies. This includes conducting site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to maintain high safety standards. You will manage site safety teams and subcontractors, coordinate with project stakeholders, and ensure all safety documentation and reporting are thorough and up to date.

• Develop and enforce HSE policies and safety procedures aligned with UAE regulations.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Lead safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing awareness training programs.
• Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, permits, and safety plans.
• Oversee subcontractors’ compliance with safety standards and monitor their health and safety performance.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare detailed investigation reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, consultants, clients, and regulatory authorities.
• Maintain comprehensive HSE records, approvals, and documentation across all projects.
• Ensure safe working environments on all construction and fit-out sites.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 8 years of HSE experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Mandatory NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC).
• IOSH certification is an advantage.
• Demonstrated knowledge of UAE HSE legislation and standards.
• Preferably holds Abu Dhabi or local authority approvals.
• Proven background in construction and commercial interior fit-out projects.
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to enforce safety protocols effectively.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and documentation skills.

This role is based in Abu Dhabi and requires overseeing multiple active construction and fit-out sites. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, managing on-site teams and subcontractors while maintaining strict adherence to health and safety standards.
