Key Responsibilities
1.Ensure that all designs fully comply with UAE Federal and Local Laws, ADNOC Standards, and HSE Regulations.
2.Promote and integrate inherently safe design principles into all project phases to eliminate or reduce hazards at the source.
3.Define HSE objectives and implement a risk-based design approach to minimize potential risks to people, assets, and the environment.
4.Ensure that all designs achieve ALARP (As Low as Reasonably Practicable) levels for health, safety, environmental, financial, and reputational risks.
5.Address environmental considerations in design, including:
Minimization of emissions and discharges affecting wildlife, marine life, air, and groundwater.
Application of Best Available Technology (BAT) to prevent and mitigate pollution.
6.Assessment and mitigation of climate change impacts due to project activities.
7.Support efforts to minimize the probability and consequences of accidental events (e.g., leaks, fires, explosions).
8.Advise on equipment selection and system design to support HSE objectives and regulatory compliance.
9.Advocate for the preservation and sustainable use of natural resources in the design phase.
10.Identify interdisciplinary interfaces and ensure HSE design consistency and integration across all engineering disciplines.
Qualifications & Experience
1. NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE qualification (mandatory).
2. Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Engineering OR Bachelor Degree in relevant
3. Science OR HSE discipline (from an institution of higher learning authorized to grant academic degrees in the country of issue)
4. Lead auditor ISO 45001/ ISO 14001 or equivalent.
5. Incident Investigation techniques.
6. Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in HSE in construction, fabrication, installation and/or commissioning projects / operations in the oil & gas or petrochemical industries
7. Excellent English communication and reporting skills (Mandatory, Arabic will be an advantage).
