Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician with hands-on expertise in maintaining, repairing, testing, and installing various types of industrial valves. This role involves working with gate valves, globe valves, ball valves, butterfly valves, check valves, diaphragm valves, and other mechanical equipment within industrial piping systems. The right candidate will bring strong troubleshooting skills and a deep understanding of mechanical assemblies and valve operations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, dismantling, and repairing different industrial valves. Routine maintenance, including pressure and leak testing as well as calibration according to industry standards, will be essential. The role also includes installing and aligning valves within process systems, reading and interpreting engineering drawings and P&IDs, and replacing components such as gaskets, seals, discs, stems, and actuators. Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrically actuated valves is expected. Clear documentation of all maintenance activities and adherence to safety protocols are mandatory. Collaboration with engineers and supervisors to ensure timely task completion is a key part of the role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should hold a diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field. Experience with industrial valves, ideally between 2 to 5 years, is highly desired. A solid grasp of mechanical systems, appropriate tools, and measuring instruments is necessary. The ability to troubleshoot issues effectively and recommend solutions is crucial. Previous experience in industrial environments such as oil & gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, or water treatment will be advantageous. The role requires a candidate who can work independently or as part of a team while maintaining a strong focus on safety and documentation.

Additional skills include familiarity with control valves and actuators powered by pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic systems, and a working knowledge of ASME and API valve standards. Experience with shutdown and turnaround maintenance projects is beneficial. Skills in welding or machining will be considered a plus.
