Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager with extensive experience in the oil and gas sector. The ideal candidate will oversee the development and management of HSE systems to ensure compliance with both company policies and industry standards, fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

The HSE Manager will be charged with a range of critical duties, including:

• Designing and implementing HSE policies and procedures aligned with international standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Driving the establishment of a strong safety culture focused on achieving zero harm across the organization.
• Providing strategic advice on HSE matters to senior leadership and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Managing regulatory compliance by coordinating with authorities, auditors, and clients.
• Carrying out thorough hazard identifications, risk assessments, and executing control measures through programs like HAZID, HAZOP, and JSA.
• Leading investigations into incidents and accidents, identifying root causes, and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are applied.
• Developing comprehensive training programs and conducting safety meetings, toolbox talks, and emergency drills for staff and contractors.
• Overseeing environmental management practices focusing on waste management, pollution prevention, and minimizing environmental impacts.
• Conducting regular HSE inspections and internal audits, ensuring timely follow-up on corrective measures.
• Formulating and managing emergency response plans and leading the response during urgent situations or crises.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with a strong focus on HSE management.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA are highly preferred.
• Proven leadership capabilities in developing and sustaining safety cultures in complex environments.
• In-depth knowledge of local and international regulatory frameworks applicable to the oil and gas industry.
• Strong expertise in risk management, incident investigation, and emergency preparedness.
• Excellent communication and training skills to effectively engage teams and contractors.
