Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced HSE Director to oversee the safety management and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory safety standards at construction sites in Riyadh. Reporting to the Safety Manager or Senior Safety Specialist, the HSE Director will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining a safe work environment across projects by implementing effective safety programs and audits.

Key Responsibilities

The HSE Director will manage and administer job site safety programs, conducting regular inspections to identify and address potential hazards. You will monitor construction operations to ensure adherence to ESHARP Management and Parsons Corporate Safety & Health protocols. Additionally, you will analyze accident records and prepare detailed reports to drive continuous improvements.

On smaller projects, if certified in first aid, you may serve as the first aid responder or oversee first aid personnel providing care for occupational injuries or illnesses. Responsibilities also include facilitating new hire safety orientations, leading daily safety briefings, and conducting weekly toolbox training sessions to promote a culture of safety awareness.

Required Skills and Competencies

A strong understanding of federal and state health and safety regulations is essential. The role demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with project teams, suppliers, clients, and regulatory bodies. The ability to analyze safety data and implement corrective actions is key to driving safety performance on site.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Typically, up to 5 years of relevant experience in health and safety within the construction or engineering sector is expected.

Work Environment and Relationships

The position involves close cooperation with Senior Safety Specialists, Safety Managers, and senior construction personnel to ensure site safety compliance. The HSE Director will provide technical guidance to first aid attendants and interact with all project employees. Coordination with external contacts such as safety organizations, suppliers, clients, and government agencies is also part of the role.
