Job Overview
We are urgently seeking a skilled Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in radiation safety, with a background in health physics or industrial radiography operations. This role offers a competitive salary package ranging from SAR 6,000 to SAR 13,000.
Key Responsibilities
The Radiation Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment through the proper handling and management of radioactive materials and equipment. Key duties include:
- Managing industrial radiography operations involving Gamma and X-Ray sources
- Utilizing radiation detection and monitoring equipment effectively
- Overseeing the safe handling, storage, and transportation of radiation sources
- Conducting radiation safety audits and inspections to comply with regulatory requirements
- Providing training and supervision to radiation workers to maintain safety standards
- Maintaining regulatory licenses and permits related to radiation safety
Required Skills and Experience
A successful candidate should have between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience with proven expertise in radiation safety and health physics. Familiarity with the following is essential:
- NRRC regulations set by the Saudi Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission
- Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES) regarding Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and radiation safety
- International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safety standards and global best practices
- Experience working on Saudi Aramco projects or facilities and knowledge of their safety management systems
- Understanding of Aramco contractor approval and compliance processes
Educational Background and Certifications
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, or a related discipline. Required certifications include:
- Certified Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)
- Valid NRRC License
- QSA Global Retrieval and Maintenance Certificates
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications would be advantageous:
- Experience as an Aramco-approved vendor
- Saudi nationals are highly preferred
