Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer specialized in HVAC and MEP systems to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves leading the design and development of mechanical systems across various projects, including commercial, residential, and oil & gas industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of HVAC system design and building services standards, ensuring projects meet the highest international standards from concept through to detailed execution.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include preparing HVAC designs for multiple project types and performing engineering tasks throughout all project phases—from conceptual designs to detailed engineering. The engineer will be responsible for carrying out mechanical calculations such as heat load analysis, duct sizing, chilled water hydraulics, static pressure assessments, and sizing and selection of equipment.

The role also involves developing detailed plumbing designs for drainage and water supply systems, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, reviewing design documentation and vendor submissions, as well as supporting on-site project execution. Preparation of project proposals, including man-hour estimation and scope of work development, forms an essential part of the job.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong expertise in ventilation and air conditioning systems design, including DX systems (constant and variable air volume) and chilled water systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of international building services codes and standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, IBC, IFC, IPC, and IMC.
• Capability in mechanical engineering calculations supporting HVAC system design.
• Experience in preparing scope of work documents, technical reports, material specifications, and reviewing design packages.
• Excellent coordination skills for liaising with clients, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in planning and scheduling discipline deliverables and managing personnel resources.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with proven experience in HVAC and MEP engineering. A successful background in delivering complex projects within commercial, residential, and industrial sectors will be highly regarded. Familiarity with oil & gas facility engineering is also advantageous.
