Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Supervisor with a minimum of 7 years of experience in the oil and gas construction sector. The ideal candidate will have hands-on supervisory experience on ARAMCO projects, demonstrating expertise in managing complex electrical installations in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
The Electrical Supervisor will oversee daily on-site electrical construction tasks, including cable laying, terminations, tray installations, lighting, grounding, and substation works. Ensuring all activities adhere to ARAMCO standards such as SAES and SAEP, approved drawings, and IFC documents is paramount. Efficient allocation of manpower, materials, and equipment is required to meet stringent project timelines.
Technical oversight involves reviewing electrical drawings, schematics, method statements, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). The supervisor will monitor the installation of medium and low voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, motors, control panels, and earthing and lightning protection systems, promptly identifying and resolving any technical challenges.
Quality assurance duties include ensuring compliance with QA/QC protocols, coordinating inspections with ARAMCO representatives, supporting the QA/QC team with RFIs, SAT/FAT activities, punch list resolution, and maintaining accurate documentation and as-built drawings.
Safety is a critical focus, enforcing strict adherence to ARAMCO’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and the Permit to Work (PTW) system. The supervisor will lead toolbox talks, conduct risk assessments, and ensure all electrical safety and hazardous area procedures are followed to maintain a zero-incident safety record.
Coordination with civil, mechanical, instrumentation, and commissioning teams is essential, as is attending site meetings with contractors and ARAMCO inspectors. Detailed daily progress reports, weekly schedules, productivity, and manpower reports must be prepared and submitted regularly.
Additionally, the role requires supervising pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, participating in functional testing, energization, and startup, and verifying that all test records and certifications are properly documented.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 7 to 12 years of experience in oil and gas construction projects.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years in a supervisory role with ARAMCO or similar oil and gas clients.
- Thorough knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards (SAES, SAMSS, SAEP) and IEC/NEC standards.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems within hazardous environments.
- Ability to interpret IFC drawings, single line diagrams, and layouts efficiently.
- Proven leadership and team management skills in multicultural settings.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Proficient communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Familiarity with project management software and reporting tools.
Preferred Certifications
- Saudi Aramco Approved Supervisor certification (if applicable).
- OSHA, NEBOSH, or IOSH safety certification.
- First Aid and safety training credentials.
- Work Permit Receiver certification for ARAMCO PTW system.
Work Environment
This is a site-based position primarily located in remote gas field environments such as Jubail, Dammam, and Al-Khobar. Candidates should expect exposure to challenging weather conditions including heat and dust, necessitating strict compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety regulations. The role may involve extended working hours and rotational shifts.
