Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to lead financial planning and analysis for our dealership operations. This key role involves managing budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and financial reporting to support business decisions and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will drive the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and financial plans across various dealership departments. Responsibilities include analyzing financial results to identify variances and risks while recommending opportunities for improvement. Monitoring sales performance, gross profit margins, and inventory metrics such as stock aging and turnover are also critical. The successful candidate will prepare regular management reports and KPI dashboards to communicate insights effectively.
Additional duties include supporting month-end closing activities, reconciliation processes, accruals, and reviewing financial statements. Deep analysis of aftersales segments, including Parts, Service, and Finance & Insurance (F&I) profitability, is essential. Ensuring adherence to both OEM reporting standards and internal finance policies forms a vital part of the role. Managing credit control functions to secure timely collections and minimize bad debts is also required to maintain a healthy cash flow.
Required Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling. A thorough understanding of dealership profit and loss statements alongside key retail performance indicators is necessary. Experience analyzing F&I financial performance is highly valued. Excellent communication and presentation skills combined with meticulous attention to detail and a proactive ownership attitude are essential. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment rounds out the skill set.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required. Candidates should bring between 4 to 6 years of experience in financial accounting and financial planning and analysis (FP&A). Proficiency with ERP software, particularly Tally Prime, is expected.
