Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Workshop Safety Officer to join our team in Qatar within the oil and gas and manufacturing sectors. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in GCC countries, specializing in maintaining high safety standards within machine shops and fabrication environments.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing safety procedures in workshop operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies. This includes conducting regular safety inspections, managing Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) systems, safeguarding machinery, and monitoring welding, electrical, and instrumentation safety practices. Additionally, the role involves leading toolbox talks, performing Job Safety Analysis (JSA), investigating incidents, and auditing hot work and maintenance permits.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- NEBOSH IGC certificate or Diploma in Industrial Safety
- Proven knowledge of machine shop and fabrication safety protocols
- Experience with LOTO procedures and machine guarding techniques
- Familiarity with welding, electrical, and instrumentation safety standards
- Ability to conduct toolbox talks, JSAs, and thorough incident investigations
- Competence in auditing hot work and maintenance permits
- Good command of English and proficient computer skills
