Job Overview

Masaaha is seeking a qualified Safety Engineer to promote and maintain a secure work environment across various project sites in Qatar. This role focuses on enforcing safety protocols, performing risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to both local regulations and company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Safety Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing bespoke HSE plans tailored to each project. Daily duties include conducting thorough risk assessments and hazard identification, recommending appropriate control measures, and ensuring all activities comply with applicable laws and client specifications. The role involves performing regular site safety inspections, audits, and leading safety walks to identify potential hazards.

In the event of any incidents, accidents, or near misses, the candidate will investigate thoroughly and prepare comprehensive reports with corrective action recommendations. The engineer will also organize toolbox talks, deliver safety inductions, and provide ongoing training sessions to the workforce. Proper use and monitoring of personal protective equipment (PPE) will be ensured, alongside diligent maintenance of all HSE documentation and records. Interaction with regulatory bodies and client representatives on safety matters forms another vital part of this role.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, civil, or industrial engineering. Professional safety certifications such as NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or IOSH are highly desirable. Candidates should bring at least 10 years of hands-on experience in construction, oil and gas, or industrial project environments.
