Job Overview

Intercity FM, supported by AKTOR & COMO, is currently seeking a dedicated Senior HSE Officer to join our team in Qatar. This role is ideal for experienced professionals who are committed to promoting workplace safety, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and leading initiatives to maintain a secure working environment across operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior HSE Officer will play a pivotal role in managing and enforcing safety policies on site. Responsibilities include conducting thorough hazard identification, performing risk assessments, and carrying out safety audits and inspections. The successful candidate will lead accident and incident investigations, compile detailed reports, and recommend corrective measures. Monitoring high-risk activities and intervening to prevent unsafe practices is a critical part of this role.

Additionally, the Senior HSE Officer will coordinate HSE training programs, including inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions. The role supports emergency preparedness efforts and is tasked with maintaining comprehensive HSE documentation, such as records, registers, and statistical reports. Supervising HSE Officers and ensuring effective site coverage are also key duties, alongside fostering a culture of continuous safety improvement in collaboration with management, employees, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Health, Safety and Environment, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a relevant field.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC Parts 1, 2, and 3, IOSH Managing Safely, and OSHA 132-hour certification are required.
• Additional qualifications in Incident Investigation, Reporting, and Train-the-Trainer are advantageous.
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on HSE experience, with a preference for candidates who have held supervisory or management positions.
• Sound knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards as well as local HSE laws and regulations.
• Proven experience in risk assessments, investigations, workplace inspections, and managing safety at high-risk operations.

Work Environment

This position is based in Qatar and involves working closely with diverse teams in different work environments. The candidate must be prepared to actively engage with site operations and safety management to maintain compliance and promote proactive health and safety standards throughout the organization.
