Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer with substantial experience in Saudi Aramco, SABIC, and the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industries. The ideal candidate will have between 5 to 7 years of proven expertise in implementing rigorous safety standards on complex projects, ensuring the well-being of employees, contractors, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Safety Officer will be responsible for enforcing compliance with Aramco’s safety regulations and standards across all assigned worksites and projects. This includes conducting thorough safety audits and inspections, identifying hazards, and taking decisive action to mitigate risks. The role requires leading safety training sessions for personnel, managing incident investigations by analyzing root causes, and instituting preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
Additionally, maintaining detailed safety records and documentation such as safety data sheets (SDS) is essential. The Safety Officer will also oversee emergency preparedness by ensuring adherence to emergency response plans and conducting regular drills. Promoting a proactive safety culture among all team members and ensuring the correct use and upkeep of personal protective equipment form vital parts of this role.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Strong knowledge of Aramco safety standards including GIs, CSSP, CRM, ERP, PSI, and related procedures.
- Proficiency in hazard identification, risk assessments, and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience in conducting safety training programs and facilitating emergency response drills.
- Ability to lead and manage investigations of workplace incidents and environmental issues.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey safety policies to all levels of personnel and collaborate with project managers.
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is required. Candidates should have 5 to 7 years of solid experience working in safety roles within the construction, oil and gas, or petrochemical sectors. Prior experience with Aramco projects is highly preferred, along with certification or approval as an Aramco Safety Officer.
