Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled HSE Safety Officer to join our team for a short-term project supporting mechanical activities at the SASREF facility in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. This role is project-based, lasting approximately 1 to 2 weeks, starting from 15 August 2026. The position involves ensuring safety compliance across day and night shifts, contributing to a secure and efficient work environment during mechanical installations and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining high safety standards on site by:

• Monitoring HSE compliance during mechanical erection, installation, and maintenance tasks
• Performing frequent safety inspections and proactively identifying hazards
• Ensuring strict adherence to Permit to Work systems, site safety regulations, and approved HSE procedures
• Reviewing Job Safety Analyses (JSA/JHA), risk assessments, and method statements before commencement of work
• Overseeing proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and control measures for mechanical and rotating equipment
• Conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings to keep the team informed and vigilant
• Monitoring critical high-risk operations such as lifting, hot work, confined space entry, and work at height
• Supporting Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and isolation procedures relevant to the scope of work
• Reporting unsafe acts, incidents, near misses, and other HSE-related observations promptly
• Assisting with investigations into incidents or near misses and implementing corrective actions
• Maintaining daily HSE inspection records and related documentation
• Coordinating closely with the Mechanical Supervisor, Permit Receiver, client representatives, and project management on all safety matters
• Taking decisive action to halt or escalate unsafe work activities when necessary
• Supporting emergency response efforts and ensuring compliance with site emergency protocols

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate should have proven experience in HSE roles within mechanical or industrial project environments. Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabia safety standards and Permit to Work systems is essential. This role demands excellent observational skills, clear communication abilities for conducting briefings, and the confidence to enforce safety regulations effectively.
