Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned EHSS Manager with a strong background in SABIC operations to join our team in Jubail. This role demands a minimum of 15 years of experience within the oil and gas sector, including at least five years working directly with SABIC. The successful candidate will oversee the development and management of health, safety, and environmental systems, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations and fostering a proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

The EHSS Manager will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies aligned with international standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001. This position requires leading efforts to cultivate a zero-harm workplace culture, directing senior management on EHSS strategies, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements through effective liaison with authorities and stakeholders.

Additional duties include conducting thorough risk assessments, leading hazard identification and mitigation programs such as HAZID, HAZOP, and JSA, and managing incident investigations by identifying root causes and executing corrective measures. Oversight of EHSS training initiatives, including safety meetings and emergency drills, also falls within this role.

The manager will play a pivotal role in environmental stewardship by monitoring pollution control, waste management, and other environmental protection activities. Furthermore, the role involves conducting regular audits and site inspections to verify compliance and corrective action implementation, as well as developing and managing emergency response plans to handle crisis situations effectively.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety, or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA are highly preferred. Proven expertise in the oil and gas industry, coupled with extensive experience in SABIC EHSS protocols, is essential.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, excellent strategic planning skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with regulatory bodies and internal teams. A comprehensive understanding of international and local EHSS standards is essential to succeed in this role.
