Job Overview
Skylark Infra Engineering Private Limited is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to join their team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for an important commercial building project. This role is tailored for Saudi nationals eager to contribute to the Qiddiya project in Riyadh by enforcing rigorous health and safety standards and ensuring full compliance with both local and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities
The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and continuously monitoring the company’s health, safety, and environmental policies on-site. Duties include conducting regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend effective mitigation strategies. The role also involves leading safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for all workers and site personnel to promote a strong safety culture.
Additionally, you will investigate and document all incidents, accidents, and near misses while ensuring adherence to Saudi labor laws, civil defense standards, and project-specific safety guidelines. Collaboration with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to maintain a safe working environment is essential. Accurate record-keeping and timely submission of safety reports to management will also fall under your responsibilities, alongside organizing and leading emergency response drills to guarantee preparedness.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in a Safety Officer role, preferably within building construction projects.
- Possession of recognized safety certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH.
- Fluency in Arabic is essential for effective communication on-site.
- Proven experience working within Saudi Arabia, with a comprehensive understanding of local safety regulations and international safety standards.
- Excellent observational capabilities and strong communication skills are required to effectively manage safety processes and training.
- Immediate availability to start is preferred.
