Job Overview
Skylark Infra Engineering Private Limited is seeking a dedicated and qualified Safety Officer to join their team for the Qiddiya project based in Riyadh. This role is open exclusively to Saudi nationals and will focus on maintaining top-tier health and safety standards on a commercial building construction site. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in fostering a safety-first culture while ensuring strict adherence to both local and international safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and continuously monitoring the company’s health, safety, and environmental policies across the construction site. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop effective mitigation strategies. The role also involves organizing safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training sessions for all site personnel.
Additionally, the Safety Officer will lead investigations into any incidents, accidents, or near-misses, preparing detailed reports and maintaining accurate safety records in compliance with legal and company requirements. Coordinating closely with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors is essential to maintaining a secure work environment. Emergency preparedness drills will also be managed to ensure readiness in crisis situations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar HSE role, preferably within building construction projects.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or an equivalent recognized safety certification is essential.
- Fluency in Arabic is mandatory to effectively communicate within the local context.
- Previous work experience in Saudi Arabia with strong knowledge of local safety regulations and civil defense requirements.
- Excellent observation and communication skills, with the ability to enforce safety standards firmly and professionally.
- Immediate availability to join the project.
