Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated and results-oriented Assistant Store Manager to lead the General Merchandise departments, including apparel, electronics, home goods, seasonal products, and hardlines. This role is based in the United Arab Emirates and focuses on driving operational success, elevating merchandising standards, and managing a high-performing retail team.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing all non-grocery floor operations daily. This includes coordinating logistics, delegating tasks to staff, and ensuring smooth department workflow. You will also be in charge of merchandising activities such as maintaining appealing visual displays, end-caps, seasonal resets, and ensuring adherence to planograms.

Inventory management is a critical function in this role, requiring close monitoring of stock levels, conducting cycle counts, minimizing shrinkage, and guiding replenishment efforts. Leading and developing the team through training, scheduling, coaching, and performance evaluations ensures that associates meet and exceed store standards. Additionally, handling complex customer inquiries and maintaining a safe shopping environment are essential components.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have practical experience in general merchandise retail, with familiarity in stockroom control and inventory management. Strong leadership qualities, sound decision-making abilities, and effective conflict resolution skills are key to succeeding in this role.

Technical proficiency is expected, including working knowledge of POS systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office tools. A deep understanding of visual merchandising is important, especially regarding end-caps, promotional displays, and optimizing floor layouts to enhance customer engagement.
