Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled IT Helpdesk Support Technician for a contract position lasting six to twelve months in the United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for users requiring technical assistance, offering prompt solutions and ensuring smooth IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing incoming requests via phone and email, diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to computer systems and networks. Tasks include creating and managing user accounts in Active Directory, handling mailbox permissions within Exchange Server, managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and configuring shared folder permissions.

Additional duties involve installing and updating software, performing remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques, and guiding users through problem resolution steps. You will also escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support and maintain detailed records of incidents and solutions using Service Manager. Following up with customers to ensure complete satisfaction and relaying valuable feedback to internal teams will also be expected.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a helpdesk technician or in a customer support role within an IT environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of office automation tools, databases, and remote management software
  • Good understanding of computer hardware, operating systems such as Windows 10, mobile devices including iPhones, and common software like Microsoft Teams, Office 365, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic to intermediate technical issues efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English
  • Customer-focused attitude and ability to handle pressure calmly
  • BSc or BA degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field

Preferred Experience

Experience with security and system management tools will be considered an advantage. This includes familiarity with Carbon Black endpoint protection, Microsoft Configuration Manager for patching, Microsoft Service Manager for ticket handling, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Remote Desktop applications.
