Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with extensive experience in the UAE construction sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project accounting, financial management, and compliance with UAE tax regulations. This role demands a professional capable of independently managing accounting functions and delivering accurate financial reporting within strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting operations in a construction environment. Key duties include:

• Managing project accounting, job costing, budgeting, and cost control to ensure financial efficiency.
• Handling accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and preparing comprehensive financial reports.
• Administering cash flow management and coordinating with banks for facilities such as overdrafts, credit limits, letters of credit, guarantees, and bill discounting.
• Leading the finalization of books of accounts and preparing management information system (MIS) reports.
• Conducting internal audits and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and statutory requirements, including VAT and Corporate Tax regulations.
• Overseeing subcontract agreements and shipping documentation to support project execution.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
• 7 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience within the UAE construction industry.
• Deep understanding of project accounting principles and cost control methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax laws along with applicable accounting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software or ERP systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple accounting tasks independently and meet tight reporting deadlines.
