Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Retail Auditor cum Accountant to join our team in the UAE. This role combines accounting expertise with retail audit responsibilities, providing a crucial function for financial accuracy and operational compliance across multiple retail locations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will handle a diverse range of duties, including managing daily accounting operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. You will prepare VAT returns and ensure full compliance with Corporate Tax regulations. The role requires performing reconciliations for banks, suppliers, and point-of-sale systems, alongside preparing monthly financial reports.

Additional tasks include processing payroll with adherence to the Wages Protection System (WPS), conducting stock audits across retail outlets and warehouses, and investigating discrepancies in inventory and stock losses. Auditing cash collections, petty cash, and credit card settlements will be part of your routine duties. You will also ensure strict compliance with standard operating procedures and internal controls, culminating in the preparation of detailed audit reports with recommendations for corrective measures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is essential. Candidates holding professional certifications such as ACCA, CMA, or CPA will have an added advantage. The role demands 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years specifically in UAE retail. Experience in the mobile phones or electronics retail sector is preferred.

Proficiency in UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations is required, alongside familiarity with ERP systems like Odoo. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is necessary to manage complex financial data effectively. Candidates should be willing to travel across the UAE to perform store audits. Strong analytical abilities combined with effective communication skills are crucial. Fluency in English is mandatory, while Arabic or Hindi/Urdu language skills are beneficial.
