Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchase Officer to join our team in Sharjah. This role focuses on sourcing raw materials and production consumables, ensuring efficient procurement at competitive prices while maintaining strict adherence to delivery schedules. The ideal candidate will have a background in engineering and a passion for maintaining smooth supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Purchase Officer will handle a broad range of procurement tasks, including requesting and evaluating supplier quotations and preparing comparative analysis reports for management review. You will be responsible for raising accurate Purchase Orders based on approved specifications and tracking orders to provide timely updates to relevant departments. Managing supplier follow-ups to ensure quality and punctual delivery is critical, along with maintaining essential procurement records such as Import LC registers and raw material cost lists. Coordination with the Finance department to facilitate Letters of Credit (LC) for international purchases and post-dated checks (PDC) for local orders will also be part of your role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or another engineering discipline, with 1 to 2 years of hands-on procurement experience, preferably dealing with technical products in the Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) industry. Familiarity with ERP procurement systems is highly desirable to streamline purchasing processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential. Strong communication skills in English are required, while Arabic language skills will be considered an advantage.
