Job Overview

The University of Sharjah is seeking an experienced Academic Applications Analyst / System Analyst to provide expert technical support and administration for its Learning Management System, collaboration tools, and online assessment platforms. This role plays a crucial part in analyzing academic and student data to enhance digital learning environments and streamline reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will analyze university business processes and identify opportunities to boost efficiency through technology. Responsibilities include designing and managing business intelligence and reporting solutions that transform data into clear, visualized insights. You will also plan, adopt, and test instructional technologies and development tools that align with the learning needs across the university.

• Examine current business processes and academic requirements to propose technology-driven improvements.
• Develop and implement dashboards and reports representing academic and student information in multiple formats.
• Manage and enhance the Learning Management System and related instructional tools.
• Collaborate with various teams to ensure reporting accuracy and data integrity.
• Adopt new educational and analytic technologies to support academic goals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the university’s academic infrastructure.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Proficient in analyzing data applications and translating findings into practical solutions.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems like Blackboard and associated instructional technologies.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and accreditation management software.
• Strong expertise in SQL database management, including query development, performance tuning, and data integration.
• Knowledge of analytic tools and programming languages such as C#, VSTO, SharePoint, SAS, and Power BI.
• Ability to read and support application code, reports, and operational processes.
• Excellent customer service orientation coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities with solid written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of three years’ relevant professional experience in academic technology support or systems analysis.

The position is based at the University of Sharjah’s Main campus.
