Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Vendor Material Inspector with a strong Mechanical Engineering background and extensive experience in fabrication inspections. This position is based in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia, supporting Aramco and its joint ventures. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying and inspecting vendor materials according to strict Aramco quality standards, ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are met during the receiving and fabrication stages.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves thorough inspection and verification processes, including:
- Receiving vendor materials and verifying purchase orders, materials receiving reports, mechanical drawings, and mill test certificates (MTCs).
- Checking dimensions, quantities, heat numbers, and traceability to confirm compliance with specifications.
- Conducting inspections during fabrication stages such as fit‑up, welding quality, spool fabrication, and dimensional accuracy.
- Ensuring full adherence to Aramco standards including SAES, SAMSS, and SAEP throughout the inspection process.
- Reviewing mill test certificates in line with 01‑SAMSS guidelines.
- Preparing inspection reports such as Material Receiving Inspection Reports (MRIRs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), while maintaining accurate inspection documentation.
- Using SA175 forms for material receiving and inspection records.
- Working closely with vendor quality control teams to address and resolve any corrective actions.
- Supporting audits, surveillance visits, and facilitating material release procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Ideal candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in vendor inspection or material receiving within Aramco or its joint ventures.
- Strong technical knowledge of fabrication processes including fit‑up, welding, spool fabrication, and dimensional quality control.
- Familiarity with Aramco standards such as SAES, SAMSS, SAEP, and experience handling SA175 forms.
- Competence in reviewing mill test certificates, understanding traceability, and conducting dimensional inspections as per relevant codes.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, isometric drawings, and datasheets effectively.
- Knowledge of ASTM, ASME, and API material standards.
- Mechanical Engineering Diploma or Degree.
- Strong documentation and communication skills with the ability to work independently at vendor sites.
- A valid driving license is mandatory for this role.
Work Location and Environment
This position will be based at the Petro Rabigh plant in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia. Candidates must be prepared to operate on vendor locations independently and coordinate inspections in alignment with company and client requirements.
