Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Transportation Operations Manager to oversee a large fleet comprising over 50 trailers and cranes. This role demands expertise in oil and gas transportation operations, focusing on maximizing fleet productivity, ensuring regulatory compliance, controlling costs, and driving profitable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the daily activities of the heavy equipment fleet across multiple sites and clients. You will coordinate and optimize scheduling, dispatch, and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime. Leading a team of transportation coordinators, drivers, and operators will be a critical aspect of this role.
Additionally, the position involves fostering business development by securing new contracts within the oilfield services and logistics sectors. Effective negotiation of rates and service agreements along with maintaining strong client relationships will ensure ongoing success and growth.
Cost management is a key focus, including monitoring fuel use, maintenance expenses, and other operational costs, while preparing detailed monthly reports covering utilization, revenue, and costs for ownership review. The ability to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives will be highly valued.
Safety and compliance form an integral part of the role. You will ensure all vehicles and operators meet licensing and certification requirements, adhere to Saudi transportation regulations, and comply with Wasl GPS tracking mandates. Overseeing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards is essential to guarantee safe operations throughout the fleet.
Required Skills and Experience
- A minimum of five years managing transportation or logistics operations within Saudi Arabia, particularly in heavy equipment or oilfield service environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing large fleets of 50 or more vehicles and equipment.
- Strong leadership qualities with proven abilities in negotiation, team supervision, and operational reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with fleet management software systems.
- Possession of a valid Saudi driving license is preferred.
