Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to oversee the operation and optimization of a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) ensuring strict compliance with NEOM’s environmental, safety, and quality regulations. This role is essential to maintaining stable and efficient wastewater treatment processes and contributing to sustainable environmental management.

Key Responsibilities

The Process Engineer will be responsible for operating and monitoring STP processes including MBBR, biological, and tertiary treatment stages to consistently meet effluent discharge standards. Daily duties include process tuning, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to sustain plant stability. The role involves preparing operational reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, coordinating wastewater sampling efforts, and managing third-party laboratory testing and compliance documentation. Additionally, the engineer will supervise plant operators, enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), health, safety and environmental (HSE) protocols, and NEOM regulations. Coordination with maintenance, electrical, and instrumentation teams for planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities is also required. Supporting plant audits, inspections, and driving continuous improvement initiatives form part of the role expectations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the operation of STP or Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP).
• Valid Saudi Arabian Iqama and driving license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and data analysis purposes.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian environmental standards and regulations.
• Demonstrated understanding of process tuning, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning.
• HSE training with a strong emphasis on safety, environmental protection, and sustainability.
• Experience with NEOM standards is highly desirable.

Language Requirements

Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an advantage.
