Description
QA/QC Inspector ensures products, materials, or construction projects meet strict quality standards, specifications, and regulatory codes. Their primary duties include conducting inspections (visual/functional), testing, interpreting blueprints, generating inspection reports, and documenting non-conformance. They identify defects, recommend corrective actions, and prevent faulty products from leaving the facility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Inspection & Testing: Inspect incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards, using tools like calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
Documentation & Reporting: Meticulously document inspection results, test data, and quantities, and maintain records of non-conformance reports (NCR).
Blueprint & Specification Review: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to verify accuracy in production or construction.
Defect Detection & Analysis: Identify defects, troubleshoot, and support root cause analysis (RCA) efforts to prevent future defects.
Calibration & Safety: Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated and follow safety regulations like GMP or ISO standards.
Project-Specific Duties (E.g., Construction/Welding): Witness tests (e.g., welder qualifications, hydro tests), check concrete pouring, and verify material quality (structural, E&I).
Common Skills Required
Technical Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints and use inspection software or tools.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous observation skills to identify minor deviations.
Communication: Clearly communicating defects and reporting on quality metrics to management and production teams.
Analytical Thinking: Investigating defects to determine root causes
QA/QC Inspector Core Functions
Quality Control (QC): Detecting defects in finished products.
Quality Assurance (QA): Preventing defects from occurring by improving processes.
Require a minimum of 5 years of (KSA) experience, particularly in construction, oil & gas, and fit-out sectors, often demanding familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, Aramco standards, and local codes. Key roles include QA/QC Engineers and Inspectors, often requiring engineering degrees and specialized certifications.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, civil, electrical) or a related technical field is often preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector), proficiency in technical drawings/tools, and industry experience are vital.
