Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Planning Engineer with extensive experience in managing large-scale EPC projects under Saudi ARAMCO standards. The role is based in Al Hasa, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, and requires proficiency in Primavera P6 for project scheduling and control. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 12 years of industry experience, including 4 to 5 years specifically as a Planning Engineer on Saudi ARAMCO projects, along with valid ARAMCO approval.
Key Responsibilities
The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Project Baseline Schedule for newly awarded projects using Primavera P6. This includes preparing manpower and equipment histograms, as well as submitting detailed progress reports such as DPR, WPR, MPR accompanied by performance dashboards to the client.
Additional duties involve creating baseline schedules for EPC projects, preparing project budgets before project initiation, and advising management on effective cost-control and budget strategies. The engineer will closely monitor daily construction activities and overall project advancement, proposing mitigation plans for any deviations from the baseline schedule.
The position also requires preparation of crash schedules to expedite project timelines, generating interim and final invoices, and managing extension of time submissions with valid justifications. Handling claims related to change or variation orders in scope of work is another crucial responsibility.
Overseeing site operations from design and mobilization through to project handover and demobilization is expected. Experience with pipeline construction, earthworks, site preparation, roadworks, infrastructure, and building construction is essential. Coordination with project management, construction teams, procurement, and quality control ensures seamless project execution and cost efficiency, including minimizing idle manpower and equipment hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 8 to 12 years of total experience with 4 to 5 years in planning roles on Saudi ARAMCO projects
- Mandatory ARAMCO planning engineer approval
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 for scheduling and progress reporting
- Strong knowledge of EPC project lifecycle and construction methodologies
- Experience in budget preparation, cost control, and schedule recovery techniques
- Effective communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams
