Job Overview
INATT, a leading inspection and quality assurance company based in Saudi Arabia, is seeking qualified Mechanical Inspectors to join its inspection team. This opportunity supports various major infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects across Saudi Arabia and the GCC region, with positions available in Riyadh, Dammam, Jubail, Jeddah, NEOM, and other locations throughout the Kingdom.
The role focuses on ensuring compliance with project specifications, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and client requirements through detailed inspection and quality control activities at vendor shops and construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of mechanical components including structural steel, fittings, tanks, piping, valves, rotating and static equipment, and pre-engineered building components. Your duties will include:
- Performing visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of received materials and fabricated mechanical parts.
- Reviewing and verifying project documentation such as ITPs, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), material test certificates (MTCs), calibration records, and other test documentation.
- Witnessing various testing procedures including adhesion tests, non-destructive testing (NDT), hydrostatic and pneumatic tests, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT).
- Preparing detailed inspection reports and non-conformance reports (NCRs), and monitoring punch list completion to ensure quality standards are met before project handover.
- Maintaining clear communication with vendors, engineering procurement contractors (EPCs), and clients to uphold inspection integrity and meet project deadlines.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a solid background in mechanical inspection and quality control, with emphasis on mechanical commodities. Key qualifications include:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical inspection, including at least 3 years focused on QC for commodities such as structural steel, fittings, tanks, piping, valves, and pre-engineered building components, or compliant with project Schedule Q requirements.
- Proficiency in mechanical inspection techniques and quality control procedures.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and mechanical engineering concepts.
- Expertise in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Working knowledge of industry standards including ASME, API, ASTM, and ISO codes.
- Certified with relevant qualifications such as CSWIP 3.1, BGAS Grade 2, NACE Level 2; API certifications (510/570/653) are advantageous.
- Aramco approval and CBT completion is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is considered a plus.
