Job Overview

Saleh Hamad Alqahtani General Contracting (SHQ) is seeking a skilled Mechanical Inspector with expertise in Welding and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to join their team in Saudi Arabia. This role requires a professional well-versed in welding inspection, mechanical equipment assessment, and quality assurance to ensure all work complies with industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for conducting thorough on-site inspections of welding work and mechanical components. This includes reviewing crucial documentation such as Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ). Additionally, the role involves coordinating NDT activities, preparing detailed inspection reports, and documenting Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where necessary. Ensuring adherence to international codes and customer requirements throughout the project lifecycle is a key aspect of this position.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Proven experience in welding inspection and mechanical equipment assessment
• Strong understanding of relevant industry standards including ASME, API, and ISO
• Ability to accurately interpret welding procedures and inspection documentation
• Skilled in coordinating various NDT methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Visual Testing (VT)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification
• ASNT Level II certification in NDT methods (UT, MT, PT, VT)
