Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business System Analyst with a strong background as a Financial Analyst to join a leading organization in the oil and gas upstream sector. This role demands a highly skilled finance professional proficient in financial planning, analysis, and performance management, working on complex financial strategies and transformation initiatives. The position is based in Dhahran and offers a standard 5-day workweek.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will take charge of developing and maintaining comprehensive financial statements and budgets, managing assets, and performing detailed financial modeling. They will play a pivotal role in annual business planning, quarterly forecasting, and conducting performance reviews within a large-scale corporate environment.
Responsibilities also include driving organizational excellence through transformation programs, collaborating with executive teams to set transformation targets, and supporting consistent financial governance and valuation of initiatives. The role requires designing key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance dashboards to track transformation progress and impact accurately.
Additionally, this position involves developing training materials and conducting workshops or coaching sessions to enhance business and finance teams’ capabilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration is mandatory.
- At least 10 years of experience as a Financial Analyst, ideally within the oil and gas upstream sector.
- Strong expertise in financial statement development, budgeting, asset management, financial risk management, and value assurance.
- Proven experience in annual business planning, forecasting, and performance management in complex organizations.
- Demonstrated ability in managing organizational transformation projects and achieving cost savings alongside performance improvements.
- Advanced analytical skills to interpret complex data and develop strategic financial recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations and write technical documents.
- Experience creating training programs and conducting workshops for finance and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or EFQM Certified Assessor.
- Familiarity with business process improvement methodologies including Lean Six Sigma.
- Experience with data analysis, visualization, and reporting tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and partnership.
- Knowledge of Transformation Value Capture processes and financial governance related to transformation initiatives.
- Advanced degrees such as MBA, MS in Finance, or MS in Accounting are highly desirable.
- In-depth understanding of the oil and gas industry, including current trends, challenges, and regulatory environment.
Work Environment
This role is office-based in Dhahran with a regular five-day work schedule. The work environment is dynamic, offering the opportunity to engage in high-impact financial and organizational initiatives within a key industrial sector.
