Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Steel Estimation Engineer (Quantity Surveyor) with specialized experience in metal works. This role focuses on estimating costs and planning for projects involving steel structures such as handrails, balustrades, ladders, and other fabricated metal components.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and detailed cost estimates to support project bidding and execution. This includes calculating material quantities based on both shop drawings and Issued for Construction (IFC) documents. Accurate conversion of materials into weights (kilograms or tons) will be essential for precise pricing. The engineer will analyze technical drawings and specifications closely and generate client quotations accordingly. Coordination with workshop personnel and site teams is important to ensure smooth project delivery. Additionally, consideration of wastage factors, fabrication methods, and installation expenses will be required to develop comprehensive cost estimates.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven expertise in steel or metal works estimation.
• Strong background in preparing BOQs and performing quantity take-offs.
• Competency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience working within the Saudi Arabian market is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of specialized metal works such as handrails, glass railings, and custom fabricated items.
• Familiarity with various materials including stainless steel grades SS304 and SS316, mild steel, and protective coatings.
