Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Engineer specializing in Electrical systems to join a dynamic team based in Saudi Arabia. This role focuses exclusively on procurement and sourcing within Electrical, Low Voltage (LV), Low Current, and MEP construction projects. Candidates should possess substantial expertise in handling all procurement stages for electrical systems in large-scale commercial, healthcare, or residential developments.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will manage the entire procurement lifecycle, including:

• Preparing tender documents, inviting bids, and performing thorough techno-commercial evaluations of proposals from electrical subcontractors and suppliers.
• Leading contract negotiations and managing work package allocations, ensuring contracts and purchase orders reflect clear and mutually agreed terms.
• Reviewing project drawings, specifications, and BOQs to organize sourcing for switchgear, transformers, cables, lighting, low current/ELV, fire alarm systems, and related installation materials.
• Coordinating material submittals and shop drawing approvals, while closely monitoring supplier deliveries to guarantee timely arrival on-site.
• Collaborating with site teams to track progress of electrical subcontractors and address any issues promptly.
• Facilitating invoice processing, payment certifications, and final reconciliations to ensure smooth and timely contract closure.
• Utilizing Procore or similar Project Management Software to update project status and maintain tight project controls.
• Monitoring costs against budgets and implementing value engineering initiatives focused on cost reduction and energy efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
• A minimum of 7 to 15 years of hands-on procurement engineering experience in electrical systems for substantial projects, including commercial, healthcare, or residential sectors.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel for cost modeling and price analysis, along with familiarity with ERP systems and project management tools like Procore.
• In-depth knowledge of local electrical standards and regulations, such as SBC and SASO.
• Fluent English communication skills are essential; proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
