Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Procurement Engineer specializing in MEP and Civil projects, with at least 15 years of experience in the Gulf region. This full-time role is critical for managing procurement processes related to MEP and Civil construction works, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement activities for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Fighting, and associated MEP disciplines.
• Analyze project specifications, BOQs, drawings, material submittals, and procurement needs.
• Create and update procurement schedules along with material tracking systems.
• Source and evaluate local and international suppliers and manufacturers for required materials.
• Obtain, assess, and compare technical and commercial quotations to provide informed procurement recommendations.
• Negotiate competitive prices, payment terms, delivery timelines, warranties, and contractual conditions.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders, subcontracts, and related documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, QA/QC, Construction, Finance, and Stores teams.
• Ensure the procurement of long-lead items aligns with project timelines to avoid delays.
• Monitor manufacturing, inspection, and delivery processes with suppliers to maintain schedule adherence.
• Confirm that all procured items meet project specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate technical evaluations and approvals with the engineering and technical departments.
• Maintain and update supplier and subcontractor databases, including performance assessments.
• Identify alternative materials or suppliers when necessary, subject to technical clearance.
• Track procurement costs to support overall budget control efforts.
• Address and resolve any procurement-related issues involving delivery, quality, or commercial terms.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure strict compliance with company procurement policies and contractual obligations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of procurement experience with significant exposure to Gulf/GCC markets.
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in defense, military, security, or high-security project procurement.
• Proven track record in procuring MEP and Civil materials for defense or secure facilities is an advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of Gulf suppliers, regional markets, and procurement practices involving security clearance and restricted materials.
• Expertise in managing long-lead and critical project items.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOQs accurately.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills combined with commercial acumen.
• Proficiency in MS Office and procurement or ERP systems.
• Immediate availability is considered a strong plus.
