Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Field Station Technician to join our Plant Growth Core Lab team, focusing on protected agriculture practices. This role is based in Saudi Arabia and reports directly to the Research Field Station Lead. The position involves supporting vital research activities related to plant growth, soil, and water management within controlled agricultural environments.

Key Responsibilities

The technician will play an essential role in maintaining efficient operations at the field station. Duties include:

• Supporting plant, soil, and water management activities integral to protected agriculture.
• Assisting with research projects focused on greenhouse and other controlled environment agricultural studies.
• Maintaining and troubleshooting field station facilities and equipment to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Collecting, documenting, and managing data from various research trials accurately.
• Ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and operational procedures.
• Collaborating with researchers and technical staff to support both field and laboratory tasks.

Requirements

Candidates should possess relevant qualifications and experience, including:

• A technical degree or diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science, Environmental Science, or a related area.
• Previous experience working in protected agriculture, greenhouse management, irrigation systems, or in a field research support capacity is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational abilities and excellent record-keeping skills.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently as well as effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
