Job Overview

KBR has secured a significant contract with the UK Ministry of Defence (UK MOD) to provide communications network operations, maintenance, and training services based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This strategic role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a prominent project within the UK MOD’s expanding Middle East portfolio.

The IT Manager will lead efforts in managing and supporting the business-critical IT infrastructure, including network systems, end-user devices, and associated services. This position involves overseeing a team of senior engineers and junior technicians to ensure constant operational readiness and prompt resolution of IT challenges.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Manager will be responsible for the entire IT infrastructure supporting KBR-SL operations, including the monitoring and maintenance of LAN/WAN networks, servers, virtual environments, and end-user support through Remedy Service Desk. The role also includes managing fixed and deployable equipment, supervising service desks, and supporting applications such as IP Telephony, Network Management Systems, and incident management software.

Additional duties include overseeing the development and implementation of Management Information Systems, delivering technical and language training, troubleshooting complex issues related to network and hardware, and coordinating maintenance of the built estate IT environment. The manager will also act as the primary liaison with KBR for integration purposes and may be tasked with other responsibilities by the line manager.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of broad experience supporting corporate IT infrastructure, systems, and end-user technologies.
• Strong proficiency with Cisco/Juniper Firewalls, Cisco VPN, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Microsoft Active Directory, Azure ADFS, FTPS, HTTPS, TCP/IP protocols, IIS, SolarWinds, SPLUNK, and cybersecurity principles.
• Proven experience managing network environments serving between 50 to 900 users.
• Ability to supervise subcontractors and manage service delivery effectively.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
• Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on customer service and team collaboration.

Qualifications and Certifications

• Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP for network administration.
• Windows Server and Active Directory expertise, with Microsoft Azure certifications (MCSA/MCSD) and Azure ADFS knowledge.
• ITIL knowledge and experience with BMC Remedy Service Desk are highly desirable.
• Ability to obtain required security clearance if necessary.

Requirements

• Local residency in Saudi Arabia is mandatory.
• Saudi nationals are preferred, but expats with transferable Iqama will be considered.
