Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Inspector with over 12 years of experience in quality control and inspection, specifically during the construction phase. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working in major oil and gas or power plant projects, preferably with prior experience in Saudi Aramco environments. This role demands comprehensive knowledge of mechanical construction materials, international codes, industry standards, and quality systems.

Key Responsibilities

The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for inspecting incoming materials, ensuring traceability and compliance with project requirements. You will verify contractor workmanship and quality compliance on-site, enforce approved inspection and test plans (ITPs), and maintain accurate documentation throughout the construction process. Additionally, you will issue Site Inspection Reports (SIRs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where necessary and follow up on timely resolutions.

Supporting quality surveillance, you will oversee EPC contractor activities, participate in site quality audits, meetings, and punch listing during final stages. Coordination and witnessing of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) will be part of your duties alongside maintaining calibrated testing equipment and detailed QC records.

Requirements and Skills

• Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in QC and inspection during construction phases.
• Bachelor’s degree, HND, or Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering, Science, or related fields.
• Proven experience in the oil and gas or power plant sectors.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical construction techniques, materials, and industry best practices.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Strong expertise in reviewing and developing ITPs and testing procedures compliant with international standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and related technical documentation.
• Preferred certifications: CSWIP 3.1, BGAS, NDT Level II with experience in RT, PT, MT, UT & RTFI.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous exposure to Saudi Aramco projects is highly desirable. Experience verifying materials upon receipt, conducting inspections in line with industry norms, and working alongside EPC contractors on quality assurance is critical to success in this role.
