Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Steel Estimation Engineer (Quantity Surveyor) specializing in metal works such as handrails, balustrades, ladders, and structural steel. This role is ideal for candidates with a keen eye for detail and a solid background in preparing accurate cost estimates and material calculations based on engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and detailed cost estimates to support project budgeting and proposals. You will be required to calculate material quantities from both shop drawings and Issued for Construction (IFC) documents, converting them into weight measures such as kilograms or tons to ensure precise pricing. Additionally, analyzing technical drawings and specifications forms a critical part of the role.

Working collaboratively with both the workshop and site teams, you will also prepare client quotations factoring in material wastage, fabrication, and installation costs to deliver comprehensive and competitive proposals.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in steel and metal works estimation, preferably within construction or fabrication sectors.
• Strong expertise in preparing BOQs and performing accurate quantity take-offs.
• Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for cost calculations and data management.
• Familiarity with the Saudi market is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in estimating for handrails, glass railings, and customized metal works.
• Knowledge of different materials, including stainless steel grades SS304, SS316, mild steel (MS), and surface coatings.
