Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer with 5 to 8 years of experience in precast concrete manufacturing. The successful candidate will hold a degree in engineering and must be registered with the Saudi Engineering Council. This role focuses on designing and optimizing precast concrete elements while ensuring adherence to structural standards and aesthetic considerations.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves developing both conceptual and detailed designs for various precast concrete components, including double tees, hollow core slabs, insulated panels, columns, beams, and staircases. You’ll apply advanced design techniques to enhance the strength, functionality, cost-effectiveness, and ease of handling and installation of these elements.
Performing detailed structural analysis for different load conditions such as dead, live, seismic, wind, and thermal is essential. The analysis must align with project specifications and relevant codes.
Proficiency in precast design software, including Consis Beam, Etabs, and Safe, is critical for analyzing structural performance under various load scenarios and environmental influences.
The engineer will evaluate the behavior of joints, connections, and load transfer mechanisms between precast units to ensure overall stability and safety. Comprehensive design calculation packages must be prepared, encompassing structural analyses, material characterizations, reinforcement detailing, and manufacturing guidance.
Specifying connection details, such as joint types, bolting, welding, and lifting points for transport and installation, is an important responsibility. Additionally, designing and specifying reinforcement must meet the requirements for strength and durability. For prestressed precast elements, the design of tendon placement and pre-stressing forces must conform to applicable standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
- 5-8 years of experience specifically within a precast concrete factory environment.
- Registration with the Saudi Engineering Council is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design codes.
- Experience using design software such as Consis Beam, Etabs, and Safe.
- Proven ability to produce detailed design calculations and documentation.
- Excellent understanding of joint behavior and reinforcement detailing in precast elements.
