Job Overview
Join a leading energy operator in Saudi Arabia as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, specializing in either Rotating or Static equipment. This role focuses on detailed design and maintenance/modification (M&M) projects within brownfield upgrade programs. You will be pivotal in supporting critical engineering activities that enhance and maintain operating facilities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Rotating, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing detailed design deliverables related to rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, and turbines. This role includes equipment sizing, specification development, vendor documentation review, and technical evaluations. You will support maintenance and modification engineering for existing plants and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including process, piping, and electrical & instrumentation (E&I). Ensuring compliance with industry standards such as API and ASME is essential, as well as providing technical support during shutdowns, tie-ins, and replacement programs. Participation in HAZOP, HAZID, and design review sessions will be a key part of your duties.
For the Senior Mechanical Engineer – Static position, your focus will be on static equipment like vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and separators. You will prepare and review detailed design packages, including specifications, datasheets, and calculations. Vendor review and fitness-for-service assessments will ensure that all equipment meets the required standards and operational reliability. Close coordination with process, piping, civil, and E&I teams is vital. You will support modification studies and compliance with ASME, API, and TEMA codes. Responsibilities also encompass aiding shutdowns, debottlenecking efforts, and implementing reliability improvements.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience within the Oil & Gas or Maintenance & Modification sectors
- Strong expertise in detailed design engineering for rotating or static mechanical equipment
- Hands-on experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) or PMC (Project Management Consultancy) projects is highly advantageous
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards such as API, ASME, and TEMA
- Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and deliver on fast-track projects
