Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled Sales Engineer specializing in Specialty and Laboratory Chemicals to join our team and help expand our presence across Saudi Arabia. This role focuses on driving sales growth within the chemical sector, providing technical expertise, and supporting customers throughout their operational processes. The ideal candidate will combine solid chemical engineering knowledge with strong sales capabilities to serve clients in industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Metalworking, Aerospace, and Offshore sectors.
Key Responsibilities
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing existing client relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure excellent service delivery. Key duties include:
- Developing and growing sales pipelines for Specialty and Laboratory Chemicals across assigned territories in Saudi Arabia.
- Coordinating chemical operations alongside Logistics and Supply Chain departments to ensure timely product availability.
- Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with key customers, including those in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, Aerospace, and related industries.
- Conducting on-site assessments to fully understand customer needs, with particular attention to metalworking applications.
- Collaborating with suppliers to maintain technical alignment and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Preparing and delivering competitive technical proposals and quotations tailored to customer requirements.
- Working closely with manufacturing engineering teams to develop customized chemical solutions when needed.
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic sales plans.
- Maintaining accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and pipeline updates.
- Adhering to company policies and safety standards during all phases of work.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field is mandatory.
- Between 2 to 4 years of experience in chemical sales, preferably in specialty or industrial chemical markets.
- Comprehensive understanding of chemical processes and industrial applications.
- Experience with major Saudi clients such as Saudi Aramco, Ma’aden, and Hadeed is desirable.
- Valid driving license with willingness to travel extensively across Saudi Arabia.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills required to engage diverse customer bases.
- Proficiency in English is essential; Arabic language skills are considered a plus.
