Job Overview
We are urgently seeking qualified professionals for two engineering roles based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Positions available include Relay Protection Engineer and Testing and Commissioning Engineer. These roles are ideal for individuals with a solid background in electrical engineering, particularly in protection systems and substation control equipment.
Relay Protection Engineer Responsibilities
The Relay Protection Engineer will be responsible for onsite testing and commissioning of substation control and protection equipment. Tasks include working with various protection relays such as IEDs covering backup protection, synch check, pilot wire, REF protection, AVR schemes, and generator, feeder, and motor protection. The engineer will also validate protection settings through testing, parameterize protection relays, configure project files, and modify relay settings as necessary. Familiarity with IEC 61850 standards and multiple engineering software tools such as DIGSI, PCM600, Easergy Studio, MiCOM, Bio-Vision, SEL Engineering Software, and Schneider tools is essential.
Testing and Commissioning Engineer Responsibilities
This role requires hands-on experience in testing and commissioning electrical systems with a focus on protection systems. The candidate should be proficient in basic electrical engineering principles, use of electrical tools, and software like AutoCAD. Responsibilities include conducting protection relay testing, electrical equipment testing, and supporting power system operations during commissioning phases.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Relay Protection Engineer: Minimum 2-3 years of onsite experience in substation control and protection equipment testing and commissioning.
- Testing and Commissioning Engineer: At least 3-4 years’ experience in electrical equipment testing and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of protection systems, relay configuration, and parameterization.
- Proficient with industry-standard relay programming and testing software.
- Good understanding of electrical power systems and control schemes including synchronization, interlocks, autoreclosing, and stability tests.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with AutoCAD (for the Testing and Commissioning Engineer position).
