Job Overview

We are urgently seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in plumbing systems and a minimum of 7 years’ experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing detailed shop drawings and overseeing plumbing installations for underground utilities in Riyadh. This opportunity requires a transferable Iqama and offers a negotiable salary package.

Key Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing and reviewing detailed plumbing drawings, including layout plans, pipe routing, sections, and profiles for underground utilities. They will supervise the execution of plumbing works, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards. Coordination with civil and architectural teams is essential to resolve clashes and facilitate smooth installation processes.

Site inspections form a critical part of the role, focusing on monitoring the progress and quality of work while ensuring adherence to approved drawings. The candidate must have strong knowledge of HDPE, UPVC, and CPVC piping systems, encompassing proper selection, installation techniques, and jointing methods.

Additional duties include preparing quantity take-offs for plumbing materials, estimating project material requirements, coordinating with procurement for material approvals and delivery, and ensuring that all work follows safety regulations. Troubleshooting site issues and supporting testing and commissioning activities, such as pressure testing and system inspections, are also integral parts of this role. Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting on project progress and material usage is required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering focused on plumbing systems
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing detailed shop and as-built drawings
• Solid understanding of underground plumbing works and utility installations
• Expert knowledge of HDPE, UPVC, and CPVC piping materials and installation practices
• Ability to conduct effective site inspections and manage on-site challenges
• Strong coordination and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams
• Experience in quantity take-offs and material estimation
• Familiarity with safety standards and compliance requirements on site
• Capable of supporting testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of plumbing systems
• Transferable Iqama is mandatory
