Job Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Mechanical QC Engineer to join the Makkah Haram Project team. This role is vital in overseeing the quality assurance and control of all mechanical systems and installations, ensuring full compliance with project specifications, industry codes such as ASME and API, and our internal quality standards. The ideal candidate will contribute from material inspection through to project completion and handover, maintaining the highest standards throughout.

Key Responsibilities

The Mechanical QC Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing inspection and testing plans, verifying adherence to regulatory and project-specific requirements. Key duties include conducting detailed inspections using visual and dimensional methods, supervising testing processes like hydrostatic tests and non-destructive testing (NDT), and ensuring all tools and equipment are properly calibrated.

Maintaining thorough documentation is essential, including quality records, inspection and non-conformance reports, and weld documentation. This role also involves preparing regular quality performance reports for management and clients.

Handling non-conformances by identifying defects, leading root cause analyses, and driving corrective and preventive actions ensures continuous improvement. The position also requires conducting internal and supplier audits and collaborating with third-party inspectors when necessary.

Collaboration is key, as the engineer will work closely with project managers, construction teams, design engineers, and contractors to swiftly address and resolve any quality-related issues, aligning all efforts with the project objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a QA/QC role within mechanical construction projects. A solid understanding of mechanical standards such as ASME, API, and EN is required, alongside expertise in quality control methods and statistical process control.

Proficiency in non-destructive testing techniques is essential, coupled with excellent analytical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills. Fluency in English—both written and spoken—is mandatory. Familiarity with MS Office and AutoCAD is also preferred.
