Job Overview

A reputable Saudi-based engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced freelance structural engineer to support a critical project located in Makkah. This remote role involves an independent review and comprehensive redesign of an existing structural design package. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a complete IFC and tender package in full compliance with the Saudi Building Code.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate an existing structural design package for accuracy and compliance.
• Redesign the structural framework as required.
• Develop and provide a detailed IFC package including Structural Basis of Design documentation.
• Create coordinated ETABS and SAFE models reflecting the redesigned structure.
• Prepare IFC-level drawings and reinforcement schedules.
• Generate an unpriced Bill of Quantities (BOQ) aligned with the design.
• Ensure all deliverables adhere to current Saudi Building Code standards (SBC 201, 301, 303, 304).
• Participate in online coordination meetings to align with project requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of seven years’ structural engineering experience on projects within Saudi Arabia.
• Valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is mandatory.
• Advanced proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, and AutoCAD software.
• Strong background in reinforced concrete flat-slab systems, foundation design, and seismic engineering.

Engagement Details

This is a lump-sum freelance contract with full remote working flexibility. The engineer must provide editable source files for all deliverables. Regular online meetings will ensure effective communication and project coordination.
