Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled LV Switchgear Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Riyadh. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing low voltage electrical distribution systems including Main Distribution Boards, Sub-Main Distribution Boards, Motor Control Centers, Synchronizing Panels, and Automatic Transfer Switch panels. This role demands a strong technical background coupled with hands-on experience in electrical design and thorough knowledge of relevant industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include creating detailed single-line, schematic, wiring, and general arrangement drawings using engineering software. You will perform essential electrical calculations such as short-circuit analysis, discrimination studies, and protection coordination to ensure safety and efficiency. Selecting the right LV components—circuit breakers, contactors, relays, meters, and PLCs—based on both performance and cost is vital. In addition, preparing accurate Bills of Materials and maintaining updated documentation throughout the project lifecycle is required. Compliance with IEC 61439 and other applicable regulations is mandatory, along with supporting production during manufacturing, testing, and commissioning phases. Collaboration with project management and sales teams to clarify client requirements and review technical submissions is also part of the role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and possess between 5 to 10 years of direct experience in LV switchgear design and applications. Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or Revit is essential. A solid understanding of power distribution systems, motor control, and protection schemes will enable effective project delivery. Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work seamlessly with diverse teams are critical attributes.
