Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector to join a critical 13.8 kV overhead transmission line project located in Al Jalamid, Saudi Arabia. This role requires a seasoned professional with over 15 years of hands-on inspection experience, including direct collaboration with Project Management Teams (PMT). The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all electrical and instrumentation installation activities meet project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The E&I Inspector will be responsible for overseeing and verifying various installation tasks within the transmission line project, such as:

• Inspecting installation of poles, towers, conductors, insulators, and associated accessories to ensure compliance with drawings and standards.
• Monitoring stringing, sagging, tensioning, and alignment activities following approved procedures and technical requirements.
• Examining grounding and earthing systems along with lightning protection installations to guarantee operational safety and integrity.
• Witnessing and validating insulation resistance (IR) testing, continuity testing, high voltage (HV) testing, and other critical pre-commissioning processes.
• Inspecting cable laying, termination, and jointing activities related to E&I works.
• Ensuring that all inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality assurance protocols are strictly adhered to.
• Collaborating closely with the Project Management Team, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain quality standards and resolve any non-conformities.
• Documenting and raising Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and following up on corrective actions to guarantee compliance.
• Maintaining comprehensive quality assurance and control documentation, including inspection reports, test records, and daily progress updates.
• Supporting project audits and facilitating client inspections as required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 15 years of E&I inspection experience, particularly in transmission line or power projects.
• Proven experience working alongside Project Management Teams (PMT) in similar environments.
• Strong expertise in overhead transmission line projects at 13.8 kV or higher voltages.
• Familiarity with relevant standards such as IEC, IEEE, and Saudi-specific regulations.
• Sound knowledge of QA/QC procedures and well-developed skills in maintaining technical documentation.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and coordination skills to effectively liaise with diverse project stakeholders.
