Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Food Safety Officer with experience to join our team in Riyadh, specifically open to candidates from the Philippines and India. This role is essential in ensuring that food products comply with national safety standards from production through to consumption, helping protect public health through rigorous inspections and education.

Key Responsibilities

The Food Safety Officer will conduct thorough inspections across food manufacturing plants, restaurants, markets, and storage facilities. Ensuring compliance with hygiene, labeling, and food safety regulations is a critical part of the role, alongside identifying violations and taking appropriate corrective actions.

Additional duties include investigating foodborne illness outbreaks, addressing consumer complaints, and initiating enforcement actions as needed. Maintaining detailed records of inspections and outcomes is also required.

The role also focuses heavily on education and training, involving the delivery of awareness programs to food handlers and advising management on best practices in food manufacturing and hygiene.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should possess a strong understanding of food safety legislation such as FSSAI or equivalent regulations, along with keen analytical skills to investigate issues effectively. Excellent organizational and communication abilities are essential to succeed in this role, which requires independent decision-making.

A bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related discipline is mandatory. Additional certification or postgraduate qualifications in Food Safety Management are highly preferred, particularly certifications like HACCP.

Certification and Experience

Applicants must be certified in HACCP or similar food safety management systems and have verifiable experience in food safety management. Familiarity with laboratory collaboration and public health authorities is advantageous.
