Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Agriculture Specialist with extensive knowledge in horticulture and plantation management. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution, combined with practical experience in landscaping, gardening, and pest management. This role involves overseeing agricultural research, guiding community projects, and optimizing plant care practices to enhance productivity and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead research initiatives addressing land use challenges and selecting appropriate plant varieties that thrive in various conditions. You will develop and implement effective nursery techniques and oversee all stages of cultivation—from planting and spraying to harvesting and storage. Managing pest and weed control using integrated approaches will be a critical part of your duties.

Additionally, you will design and supervise work programs for gardening, landscaping, and nursery teams, ensuring best practices are followed and goals met. Providing training on the latest agricultural technologies and methods, particularly in plant pest control, will also be part of your responsibilities.

You will analyze soil properties to advance conservation methods and improve sampling technologies. Leading Integrated Pest Management initiatives for horticultural and agricultural pest control across landscaped areas, including residential settings, will be essential. Your expertise will guide surveys, sample collection, and pest studies to enhance control strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or an equivalent field from an accredited institution
• Proven experience in horticulture, plantation management, and landscaping
• Strong background in soil analysis and conservation techniques
• Expertise in Integrated Pest Management and plant pest control
• Ability to lead research projects and community development initiatives
• Excellent communication skills for training and supervising staff
