Job Overview

We are looking for a dependable and skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to oversee, manage, and enhance our enterprise database systems. The successful candidate will be proficient in administering Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL databases, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and data security across critical operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle, SQL Server, and/or PostgreSQL databases, while continuously monitoring system performance to identify improvement opportunities. You will develop and implement robust backup, recovery, and replication processes to safeguard data integrity. Managing high-availability and disaster recovery setups, including regular failover testing, will be essential. Additionally, you will handle database patching, upgrades, and migrations, aiming to minimize downtime and promptly resolve any database-related issues. Collaborating closely with application developers, infrastructure teams, and security specialists will help ensure smooth system integration and compliance with best practices and audit requirements. Maintaining thorough documentation of database configurations and operational procedures is also a key part of this role.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, with at least five years of hands-on database administration experience. Extensive experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL databases is crucial. A strong background in backup, recovery, and replication strategies along with expertise in managing high-availability and disaster recovery environments is required. You should also possess solid skills in performance tuning, database security, user access management, and troubleshooting. Experience with cloud or hybrid database environments will be considered an advantage.
